Incredible image of the crossroads between the Appia Antica and the GRA when it was still one lane in each direction. To the right in the distance the Appian Tower, an ancient medieval tower built on a Roman tomb, but collapsed in 1985 during a storm. Today the Grande Raccordo Anulare passes under the Appia Antica through a tunnel built for the Jubilee of 2000.
