From the beautiful book “Gente di Trastevere” by Carlo Bavagnoli, published around 1960, let’s take this photo that shows us an almost deserted Via Benedetta, only a woman and two people near a Vespa fill the scene. The toponym of the street takes its name from the Benedetti family who lived here in 1586. In fact, previously, the street was called Vicolo de’ Benedetti.
